When you watch Apollo group tv on a big screen, the TV speakers rarely do it justice. The two common ways to connect a soundbar or speakers are HDMI ARC and optical - and they are not equal. See our plans and pricing to get started.
HDMI ARC
ARC (Audio Return Channel) runs over a single HDMI cable, carries higher-quality audio formats, and lets one remote control both TV and speakers. It is the better choice for most modern setups.
Optical
Optical is a solid fallback on older gear that lacks ARC. It handles standard surround well but cannot pass the newest high-bandwidth audio formats.
If your TV and soundbar both have an HDMI port labelled ARC or eARC, use that. Keep optical for older equipment.
